Sunday Night Soccer Coming to Apple TV+ in 2025

Apple is making it easier for soccer fans worldwide to access Major League Soccer (MLS) content through its MLS Season Pass. As part of its 10-year partnership with MLS, Apple has announced new initiatives to increase viewership and enhance accessibility across devices and platforms.

Royce Dickerson, Apple TV’s Executive Producer of Live Sports, said, “We’re going to continue to try to make things easier for fans across the globe to access MLS content, and we want to continue to meet fans where they are.”

Beginning with the 2025 MLS season, new weekly Sunday night soccer matches will be made available to Apple TV+ subscribers at no extra charge. Live matches will also be streamed under Sunday Night Soccer, in addition to being available on MLS Season Pass. This MLS Season Pass, which was launched by Apple in 2023, offered subscriptions in over 100 countries. Sunday Night Soccer joins another live sports event, Friday Night Baseball, featuring MLB games on Apple TV+.

Marking its 30th anniversary in 2025, the league welcomes its newest franchise, San Diego FC. The season will kick off the weekend of February 22, 2025, with the first Sunday Night Soccer match featuring San Diego FC against LA Galaxy on February 23. The match will also be aired live in Times Square. Sunday Night Soccer shall boast exclusive pre-games and post-game shows, high-end production, along custom branding in both English and Spanish. MLS Season Pass: $14.99 a month; $99 for the entire season, Apple TV+ subscribers with a price of $12.99 a month or $79 per season.

Apple has launched a feature that can help users easily navigate through the other live games. After a match is finished, a pop-up menu will appear to allow users to jump easily to other live games. Aimed at creating a more seamless viewing experience for fans of soccer, this will give MLS viewers occasional contests produced in WWE facilities in Connecticut as part of an investment into premium sports programming.

Seth Bacon, EVP of Media at MLS, said, “2025 is all about investment and growth.”

Apple and MLS are working to increase access to MLS Season Pass through partnerships with T-Mobile, DirecTV, and Comcast Xfinity. T-Mobile & Metro by T-Mobile customers will receive free access to MLS Season Pass for the entire 2025 season, with no blackout dates. DirecTV residential customers can subscribe to MLS Season Pass directly through DirecTV, with a free preview available from February 22 to March 1, 2025. Comcast Xfinity has also announced a new partnership aimed at expanding distribution and reach.
