Netflix has introduced a long-awaited feature for iPhone and iPad users, allowing them to download an entire season of a TV show with a single tap. This update, called the Season Download button, was first launched on Android in 2021 and is now finally available for iOS users.
The new feature eliminates the need to download episodes individually, making offline viewing more convenient. A Netflix representative stated. “We’ve heard that downloading episodes one-by-one has been a pain point for iOS members — something we’re now addressing with this rollout.”
iOS users can find the Season Download option on a show’s page, right next to the Share button. Once tapped, the entire season will begin downloading automatically. Users can manage their downloaded content in the Downloads section under the My Netflix tab.
Netflix highlighted that this update is ideal for users who want to watch their favourite shows without an internet connection, whether on a long flight, a train ride, or during offline leisure time. “No more downloading episodes one at a time — this feature is perfect for members gearing up for a long flight, a cross-country train ride, or simply planning some offline downtime,” the company announced.
Alongside the iOS rollout, Netflix shared the top 5 most downloaded series on Android to date:
- Squid Game (Season 1)
- Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
- Squid Game (Season 2)
- One Piece
- Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
Netflix now has 301.6 million subscribers worldwide, reporting strong financial results for the end of 2024. The company has revised its 2025 revenue forecast to between $43.5 billion and $44.5 billion, increasing its previous estimate by $500 million. It also raised its projected operating margin to 29%.
In addition to financial updates, Netflix announced price increases across all subscription plans in the U.S. and other markets. This includes the first-ever price hike for its ad-supported plan and the first increase in two years for its Standard plan with no ads. With these updates, Netflix aims to enhance user experience while maintaining its position as a leading global streaming platform.
