Sling TV to Increase Subscription Prices Starting December

For its base packages, Sling TV has announced a $6 price increase, effective December 20. This marks the first nationwide price adjustment in nearly two years for the live TV streaming service. The last significant price change occurred in March 2023, when the service raised prices in select markets by $5.

Notably, Sling TV’s Orange and Blue plans will cost $46 per month, following the announced price hike, while the combined Orange-and-Blue plan will be priced at $61 per month. Each subscription tier provides access to a range of live TV channels. The Orange plan includes 35 channels such as ESPN, while the Blue plan offers 43 channels, including Bravo and TBS. The Orange-and-Blue tier combines these offerings, featuring a total of 68 channels.

The company’s website states, “These increases are industry-wide — other leading streaming providers have had increases throughout 2024. Despite this, Sling continues to be the most affordable option with offerings more than twenty dollars less per month versus other providers.”

Furthermore, Sling TV’s upcoming price increase comes shortly after significant industry developments, including DirecTV’s bid to acquire the service in September and the renewal of its distribution agreements with The Walt Disney Company. These deals cover popular networks and platforms like Freeform, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, FX, and Disney Plus.

Additionally, the price hike places Sling TV among several streaming services adjusting rates in 2024. Earlier this year, Max, Peacock, and Paramount Plus raised their subscription fees during the summer. Sling TV also revealed the addition of five new games including Pac-Man, Trivia Crack, Dots, Wordleful, and Haunted Castle. to its free Arcade feature.
