NBA Partners with YouTube to Bring League Pass to German Fans on Primetime Channels
The NBA has partnered with YouTube, that allows its fans in Germany to subscribe the NBA League Pass through YouTube Primetime Channels. This collaboration brings live and on-demand coverage of NBA events to German viewers, including the season’s key matches, NBA All-Star events, and the Finals. It also includes live commentary in German by C-Bas and Kobe Bjoern.
YouTube’s Country Director for Germany, Andreas Briese, stated, “As a basketball fan myself, I’m happy that basketball fans in Germany can now watch every NBA game live and on-demand on YouTube, thanks to our streaming partnership with the NBA, and to further expand our growing offering on YouTube Primetime Channels, Basketball has become very popular in this country since the world championship title of our National Team.”
Moreover, the NBA and YouTube are set to incorporate a wide range of localized basketball-themed content from German creators.
Matt Brabants, the NBA’s Senior Vice President and Head of International Content Partnerships, commented on the collaboration, “Collaborating with YouTube Primetime Channels reflects our continued commitment to making the excitement of the NBA more accessible to our passionate fans in Germany on the devices and platforms they use most, With the momentum around basketball in Germany at an all-time high, we look forward to working with YouTube to create more locally relevant content for fans to engage with the NBA.”
Additionally, German fans can catch live NBA action on ProSieben and DAZN.
Previously, DAZN partnered with YouTube and launched the NFL’s Game Pass International on YouTube Primetime Channels, in UK and Germany. This edition offered a wide range of content that included the live coverage of NFL games, highlights, exclusive content and the Red-zone stream that improved the engagement and experience of the fans in those regions
