ITV Attracts 21.6 Million Viewers for England’s Semi-Final Victory

ITV’s coverage of England vs Netherlands on July 10th attracted a peak audience of 21.6 million viewers across TV and streaming platforms. This marked the highest peak audience on a single channel since December 2022, when England faced France in the FIFA World Cup quarter-final. Notably, Gareth Southgate’s team secured their place in the Euro 2024 final, drawing significant viewership.

Furthermore, the audience for England’s semi-final victory over the Netherlands on ITV was significantly higher than in previous matches. This number surpasses the 18.4 million who watched England defeat Slovakia in the last-16 match on ITV, and the 16.8 million who saw England eliminate Switzerland in the quarter-final on BBC.

An average of 19.6 million viewers tuned in to watch the semi-final match between England and the Netherlands on ITV1 and ITVX from 8 pm to 9:55 pm. Additionally, 12.7 million viewers watched the overall coverage from 6:30 pm to 10:45 pm, accounting for a 64 percent share of total viewership.

With 16.8 million streams of ITV’s coverage, ITVX achieved a record-breaking milestone during the semi-final. This marks ITVX’s largest-ever livestream audience and the highest of the tournament. Notably, England will face Spain in the Euro 2024 final, on July 14th, with live coverage available on ITV1/ITVX and BBC One.
