Through a new partnership with Akash Digital TV in Bangladesh, Tata Play has expanded its international presence by enhancing its white-label solution for global OTT aggregators.
Akash Digital TV will leverage Tata Play Binge’s Cloud technology, through this collaboration to streamline content access by integrating shows and movies from multiple OTT channels into a single app and subscription. This unified platform allows OTT aggregators globally to concentrate on developing content partnerships and attracting subscribers.
Harit Nagpal, managing director and CEO of Tata Play, stated that the partnership with Akash Digital TV marks a significant milestone, to create localized offerings for consumers efficiently and cost-effectively by enabling international content delivery companies to leverage Tata Play’s proven technology.
Akash Digital TV is set to launch Akash Go, a new companion app tailored for Bangladesh, offering subscribers access to live TV channels and Video on Demand via mobile devices. This app will feature personalized recommendations based on viewing preferences. It will be available on both iOS and Android, integrating a diverse range of local and global premium content for DTH subscribers of Akash Digital TV.
Furthermore, last September, Tata Play, a prominent content distribution platform in India, unveiled its Tata Play Binge PaaS designed for global OTT aggregators to empower Tata Play to offer comprehensive development and deployment solutions. Notably, Tata Play, back then collaborated alongside Cignal TV, a top Pay-TV provider in the Philippines, to expand its international partnerships.
According to Nagpal, Tata Play’s collaboration with Cignal TV, is set to roll out soon, with Bangladesh launching on July 8th and Cignal expected to follow within the next month.
Harit Nagpal said, “We are in conversations with many others as of now. There is almost couple of them in every continent in the world that we’re talking to. The discussions are various stages of closure, and we should be housing more partnerships in the coming months.”
Additionally, Tata Play Binge, an OTT aggregation service under the Tata group umbrella, consolidates content from over 30 apps into a single platform.
