Virgin Media has announced the launch of the UK’s first dedicated rugby channel on Virgin Media TV. Starting today (Tuesday), the new channel will be available to Premier Sports subscribers at no additional cost, giving rugby fans access to round-the-clock coverage of major rugby events and tournaments.
Virgin TV customers who already have a Premier Sports subscription can start enjoying the new rugby channel immediately. For new customers, the Premier Sports package which includes access to the new rugby channel along with other Premier Sports channels is available for £15.99 per month.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, said, “The expansion of our Premier Sports offering to include the brand-new 24/7 rugby channel demonstrates our commitment to further enhancing our sports offering and providing something for all of our customers to enjoy – from football and rugby to hockey and motorsport, we’ve got sports fans covered.”
The new Premier Sports rugby channel will feature top-tier rugby content, including the Investec Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, and the United Rugby Championship. Fans can also catch some of the biggest clashes from France’s TOP14 league.
In addition to European tournaments, the channel will broadcast two live games from each round of the Japanese Rugby League One, featuring some of the biggest rugby stars. Fans of American rugby can also tune in for the best matches from the Major League Rugby competition in the United States.
