TNT Sports UK Clinches Five-Year Deal to Broadcast India vs England and Other International Cricket Matches
TNT Sports in the UK has recently finalized a five-year contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pitch International. This deal grants them comprehensive broadcasting rights for international cricket matches from India, which they will show on their traditional and digital TV channels.
This agreement was quickly made just a week before the first Test match between India and England started. The broadcast begins with England’s cricket tour in India, starting on Thursday, January 25. Fans can also stream these matches on the Discovery+ platform.
TNT Sports is set to air a series of five Test matches as part of England’s tour in India, continuing until February 2028.
Warner Bros. Discovery and BT’s joint venture previously covered the England Women’s cricket tour in India, with England emerging victorious. With this new arrangement, TNT Sports will cover every international cricket series in India, including red and white ball games, for the next five years.
Sky Sports, a competitor, had earlier secured exclusive rights from the England & Wales Cricket Board for all home Test matches, ODIs, T20s, women’s games, and county cricket in England.
In contrast, TNT Sports broadcasts England’s away games and matches from New Zealand, Australia, the Caribbean Premier League, and more.
Apart from cricket, TNT Sports holds broadcasting rights for several other sports, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Investec Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, MotoGP, UFC, Boxing, and WWE.
The Sports18 channel will live telecast the India vs England Test matches in India. Additionally, these matches can be streamed live on the JioCinema app.
