Sky and Streaming Service Now to Launch Exclusive Tennis Channel with Over 4,000 Live Matches

Sky’s sports division is gearing up to unveil a specialised tennis channel soon. It is set to debut on Sky and the streaming service. Now, on February 11, Sky Sports Tennis will feature a robust lineup.

The channel will showcase live exclusive broadcasts of over 4,000 matches from upwards of 80 events annually, covering the ATP & WTA Tours, along with comprehensive live coverage of the US Open.

This new channel’s launch directly resulted from Sky securing rights to the US Open, ATP, and WTA Tour last year, enhancing its portfolio of specialised sports channels.

From its inception, Sky Sports Tennis will be accessible to subscribers of Sky Sports with the Complete, Action, and Arena packages. As stated by Sky, the mobile app, the Sky TV app, the red button, and Now Bonus Streams will allow users to watch numerous live court streams Simultaneously.

The channel’s initial programming will include live broadcasts from the Hologic WTA Tour event in Doha, succeeded by the ATP Tour event in Rotterdam.

For those without a Sky subscription, live streaming of matches will be available through a Now Sports Day and Month Membership on the Sky Sports Tennis, Sky Sports Arena, and Sky Sports Mix channels. A selection of catch-up content will also be available on demand.

Additionally, Sky Sports Tennis will be accessible to Virgin Media and EE TV subscribers. Virgin Media users can view multiple live court streams through the Sky Sports mobile app and the red button, and EE TV users can view Now Bonus Streams.

Lexus has come on board as the ‘presenting partner’ for the channel, sponsoring the coverage.

Sky Sports managing director Jonathan Licht expressed enthusiasm about the launch, noting that Sky Sports Tennis will provide a new hub for tennis enthusiasts. This will enhance Sky Sports’ position as a leading destination for live sports in the UK and Ireland. Broadening the range of sports available for subscribers’ viewing pleasure will also offer them added value.
