Netflix Partners with TED Talks to Launch Daily Word-Puzzle Game

Netflix has joined forces with TED Talks to introduce its version of popular word games like “Words With Friends,” “Connections,” and “Wordle.”

Furthermore, on November 19 the new daily word-puzzle game, titled “TED Tumblewords,” is set to launch through both Netflix and TED.com. The game offers quick rounds where players can compete against friends, strangers, or the TED Bot for an engaging and interactive experience.

Announced at TEDNext 2024 in Atlanta on Tuesday, “TED Tumblewords” challenges players to slide rows of scrambled letters on a grid to form words. Participants, referred to as “TEDplayers,” will aim to create the longest words possible, earning points and building word chains in the process.

According to Netflix, “TED Tumblewords” will feature several engaging elements which includes:

  •  Engaging Word Puzzles: Players can tackle three unique word puzzles each day, designed to enhance critical thinking skills and expand vocabulary.
  •  Compete and Connect: Players can challenge friends in turn-based matches or test their skills against the TED Bot, as well as compete with random opponents. They will have the opportunity to climb leaderboards and share their achievements on social media, connecting with a global community of players.
  • Collectible Knowledge Cards: As players advance, they will collect intriguing facts that deepen their understanding of various TED topics, including Design, Psychology, and Science.

Notably, on both Android and iOS platforms “TED Tumblewords” is currently open for pre-registration. The game will be free for Netflix subscribers, featuring no in-game advertisements or in-app purchases.
