After making significant growth since its inception by Candle Media, The Cocomelon franchise owned by Moonbug Entertainment is all set to launch its second linear channel, named Blippi & Friends in the Mena region. This new channel is distributed by Intigral, Jawwy TV and stc tv and will be available in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates.

While the previous channel aimed at preschool core, this new channel is a 24\7 linear channel aimed at kids aged 4 to 8 years old. This new network will feature several spin-offs including Blippi Draws, Blippi Visits, and the Blippi Game Show along with some other shows such as Meekah and the feature-length special Big Dino Adventure. The decision to launch a linear channel came to light after its show Cocomelon started doing well on Netflix.
Moonbug initially built its brand on YouTube and has now an impressive 760 million YouTube subscribers across its various brands, and has a strong focus on linear programming. The idea behind is to seamlessly integrate into the daily routine of its viewers while providing fun and engaging content throughout the day. The daily segment telecasts shows such as Little Angel, CoComelon, and Arpo. Further, since Blippi is popular among young kids, Moonbug will use Blippi to convey messages surrounding positive behaviour on topics such as eating healthy food, learning new subjects, and getting out of the house for physical activity.
Moonbug’s head of EMEA, APAC and global distribution, Nicolas Eglau said “Following the successful launch of our Moonbug linear channel, which is now available in 83 countries across the globe, we are delighted to announce the launch of the brand new 24/7 Blippi & Friends channel in the Middle East and North Africa,”
Nicolas Eglau further added, “Designed to enrich families and their daily routines, this channel has been curated with local market in mind, with Blippi not only sharing bespoke messages but celebrating regional holidays and moments too. The launch of this channel marks our next step in bringing great entertainment to children across the world.”
