Euroleague Basketball has officially extended its media rights agreement with Israel’s Sports Channel, locking in exclusive broadcast rights for six more years until the end of the 2030–31 season.
This renewed partnership means basketball fans in Israel will continue to enjoy live coverage of every EuroLeague game, from the regular season to the all-important Play-In Showdown, Playoffs, and Final Four. The new agreement builds on a partnership that began in 2016, thanks to Euroleague Basketball’s strategic collaboration with global sports media giant IMG. Since then, the Sports Channel has been the go-to destination for top-tier basketball in Israel.
Paulius Motiejunas, CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said, “We are thrilled to renew our ongoing collaboration with the Sports Channel for the next six years. Israel is a traditional basketball market with an outstanding and loyal fanbase that deserves the best possible coverage of EuroLeague action. Since 2016, the Sports Channel has consistently delivered a world-class broadcast product—and we look forward to continuing this partnership through 2031.”
The agreement guarantees that fans will have uninterrupted access to games featuring Israeli powerhouses like Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv, who won the 2025 EuroCup Championship.
These teams regularly go head-to-head with some of the top names in European basketball Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, among others.
This long-term deal ensures that Israeli basketball enthusiasts won’t miss a single moment of the action, whether their favorite team is playing at home or in a high-stakes away match.
Tomer Tourgeman, CEO of the Sports Channel, said, “The EuroLeague, the biggest and most important basketball competition in Europe, is also a weekly cultural event that connects audiences, cultures, and generations of fans. We are proud to continue leading the league’s broadcasts in Israel and thank the EuroLeague management for their continued trust. We will keep investing, innovating, and exciting, closely following the Israeli teams and proudly bringing every game of this competition to every home in Israel.”
This renewed partnership comes at a time when global sports rights are increasingly competitive and expensive. For Israeli fans, it’s a big win ensuring they can keep following their favorite teams and athletes without switching platforms.
For the EuroLeague, the deal strengthens its regional presence in one of basketball’s most passionate markets. It also reinforces the importance of delivering high-quality, localized sports content, something both organisations are committed to.
Over the next six seasons, viewers can expect continued innovation in coverage from in-depth analysis and expert commentary to behind-the-scenes features. Both the Sports Channel and Euroleague Basketball are aiming to create an experience that goes beyond live games and brings fans closer to the action.
