Charter Communications Enhances Spectrum TV Select Packages in the US with Inclusion of Disney+ and ESPN+
Charter Communications and The Walt Disney Company have recently included the advertisement-supported version of Disney+ in all Spectrum TV Select packages in the United States without extra charges.
This collaboration results from a new agreement between the two companies, allowing Charter’s video subscribers to enjoy a wide range of Disney content, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. This content spans movies, TV series, and exclusive shows and is accessible through the Xumo Stream Box or any other device compatible with Disney+.
Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition at Charter, expressed enthusiasm about the new offering. He said, “With the launch of the Disney+ Basic offer, TV Select customers can now enjoy Disney’s popular streaming content and their high-quality linear TV channels, all included as part of one video package.
As the video industry continues evolving, we are committed to including direct-to-consumer apps like Disney+ with Spectrum services while providing a simplified TV viewing experience through platforms like the Xumo Stream Box. We are pleased to partner with Disney to further this goal to benefit our mutual customers.”
Justin Connolly, President of Platform Distribution at The Walt Disney Company, also commented on the partnership. He stated, “The inclusion of Disney+ alongside a curated lineup of our TV channels brings the best of both worlds from Disney’s unrivalled entertainment portfolio to Charter’s video customers.
Our goal has always been to meet consumers where they are, and these collective offerings will maximise value for Spectrum TV Select customers while broadening the audience of our advertiser-supported streaming services.”
Subscribers with Disney+ are advised to visit the website or app where they originally purchased Disney+ to adjust their subscriptions and fully benefit from the Spectrum-provided service.
Furthermore, Charter plans to add ESPN+ to its Spectrum TV Select Plus video package soon, offering it as a complimentary service in the upcoming months.
