WWE’s YouTube Channel Soars Past 100 Million Subscribers

WWE Surpasses 100 Million YouTube Subscribers, Bolstered by The Rock’s Return and Exclusive Content

WWE has gathered over 100 million followers on its YouTube channel, joining the exclusive group of only ten channels worldwide to achieve this milestone.

The resurgence of Dwayne’ The Rock’ Johnson has significantly contributed to the surge in subscriber numbers, particularly evident during the WrestleMania XL Kickoff in Las Vegas on February 8th, where the channel saw an increase of more than 100,000 subscribers in just 24 hours.

Additionally, every appearance by The Rock since his unexpected comeback on Friday Night SmackDown in September 2023 has attracted over a million views each. Before The Rock’s comeback, WWE was on course to hit the 100 million subscriber landmark by the end of April.

Now boasting over 100 million subscribers and 81 billion views in its lifetime, WWE is the top sports channel on YouTube and holds the 10th overall position. This new subscriber count surpasses the combined total of the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL.

Since its inception on YouTube in 2007, WWE has been dedicated to delivering exclusive and unique content tailored to its audience. The channel features a blend of in-ring action highlights from shows like Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, NXT, and major live events, alongside a rich archive of past events, exclusive superstar interviews, and original content, including weekly episodes of The Bump, post-event press briefings, and more.

A significant part of WWE’s success on YouTube is attributed to its original content designed for the platform, including series like WWE Playback, where superstars revisit iconic matches; WWE Now, which updates all WWE-related news; and compilation series such as WWE Top 10 and WWE Playlist.

In a separate development, WWE partnered with the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to introduce a new weekly video series called “WWE Speed.” Set to launch in April, this series will feature 5-minute matches with WWE Superstars, aiming to offer fast-paced entertainment to viewers. The series plans to release 52 episodes each year.
