Tubi, the free ad-supported streaming service owned by Fox Corporation, is expanding its content library by partnering with YouTube creators. In a move to tap into the growing demand for creator-driven entertainment, Tubi has launched a new initiative called Tubi for Creators, aiming to bring more diverse, long-form content to its platform.
As part of this program, Tubi has signed deals with six popular YouTube creators to license and distribute over 500 episodes of their shows. This marks the beginning of a broader strategy to bring thousands of digital videos from well-known online personalities to the streaming service in the coming weeks.
Tubi’s new creator partnerships include:
- Rhett & Link’s Mythical
- Kinigra Deon
- Dan and Riya
- FunnyMike
- Jubilee (founded by Jason Y. Lee)
- Watcher Entertainment (co-founded by Steven Lim, Ryan Bergara, and Shane Madej)
These creators have millions of followers on YouTube and are known for their storytelling, sketch comedy, lifestyle, and unscripted series.
Among the shows making their way to Tubi are:
- “Beverly Valley High” by Dan and Riya – a comedy series featuring quirky high school characters.
- “Mr. Creepy Eyes” by FunnyMike – a fan-favorite show from his digital catalog.
- Multiple titles from Jubilee, including “Odd One Out,” “Ranking,” “Versus 1,” and “Nectar.”
- Kinigra Deon’s “Vampire Siblings,” “College Life,” and “The World Didn’t End When I Was 16.”
- Mythical’s food interview series “Last Meals,” hosted by Josh Scherer.
- Watcher’s horror-inspired show “Are You Scared?”
Tubi CEO Anjali Sud emphasized that the company is focused on meeting viewer demands for fresh, said, “We’re listening to our viewers and recognize their desire for more stories that reflect culture and talent from the digital world,” Sud said. “As the home for free, premium entertainment, Tubi is uniquely poised to bring the creator economy to Hollywood and expand the pathways for creators to succeed in long-form storytelling.”
This marks another strategic step in Fox’s effort to evolve Tubi from a free movie and TV hub into a platform that supports a wider range of storytelling, including digital-native voices.
The Tubi for Creators program is being led by Rich Bloom, who joins as General Manager of Creator Programs and EVP of Business Development. Bloom brings years of experience from companies like Vimeo (where Sud was formerly CEO), Alibaba, Hearst, and AOL. She said, “Many creators today function like full-fledged production studios creating longer-form, episodic content that is a perfect fit for broader distribution. Tubi is the right partner to level-up their content and grow their audience.”
Sud added, “Rich has spent his career in video partnering and supporting creators, and I’m excited for him to accelerate our efforts to help more storytellers find their audience and bring more unique stories to our fans.”
Tubi for Creators is not limited to licensing YouTube content. The initiative also includes:
- Stubios, a fan-powered creator studio.
- A Kickstarter partnership, which brings over 20 indie films exclusively to the platform.
- A Blacklist collaboration, encouraging writers to submit screenplays for development and potential streaming on Tubi.
Tubi recently announced that it now serves more than 100 million monthly active users in the U.S. The platform currently hosts nearly 300,000 movies and TV episodes all free to watch with ads. Tubi was acquired by Fox Corporation in 2020 and continues to grow its presence as a major player in the free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) market.
