Titan OS Announces Partnership with Canal+

Pay TV giant Canal+ has entered into an agreement with Barcelona-based technology company Titan OS, a technology, entertainment, and advertising company to utilize its smart TV OS for distributing a variety of its brands and the Canal+ application to Philips smart TVs across Europe.

Notably, the rollout will encompass ten countries, including Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, and Romania. It will feature six brands from Canal+ Group, including Canal+ and six from its M7 subsidiary: TV Vlaanderen, Skylink, Direct One, Focus Sat, and Télésat.

Philippe Schwerer, EVP industrial partnerships and new business at Canal+ Group, said, “We are happy to announce this partnership with Titan OS. The simultaneous roll out in ten territories reflects the acceleration of Canal+ Group global expansion. Across all those countries, access to all Canal+ content and bundles will be smoother than ever on Titan OS powered TV’s, such as Philips Smart TV’s.”

Applications from Canal+ Group will come pre-installed on the Titan OS Home Page, for the pay TV operator’s subscribers. This has been done to provide the subscribers with the ability to log in and access a wide array of sports, movies, and series content.

Within the Canal+ application, Canal+ subscribers will have the ability to explore and watch all the content included in their package, along with content from third-party applications. The pay TV operator’s content will be easily accessible from the homepage and will feature a dedicated Canal+ button on their remote controls on Philips Titan OS TVs in France.

Additionally, on Philips Linux Smart TV devices from 2023 and 2024, Titan OS is already installed. It will soon be extended to earlier models through an automatic software update, thereby broadening the reach of content offerings from Canal+ Group and M7 Group.

Jacinto Roca, CEO at Titan OS, said, “We are excited to partner with Canal+. Our mission is to improve the TV experience by connecting viewers with the content they love. We understand the importance of offering high-quality content adapted to all audiences. This launch is a step forward in strengthening our content proposition in Europe. Moreover, by simplifying content discovery, we not only enrich the viewing experience but also unlock more effective monetisation opportunities for our content partners.”
