Sky Sports+ Set to Launch Live on August 8th

Sky Sports subscribers will gain access to the new Sky Sports+ channel and multiple live streams without any additional cost, starting August 8th. This update brings hundreds of hours of live sports, featuring a fourfold increase in EFL match coverage and all 72 EFL teams showcased over 20 times per season.

Notably, for a seamless experience for its customers without requiring any action, Sky Sports+ will integrate into the current Sky experience on Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW. Additionally, new customers can take advantage of an exclusive offer to get Sky Sports (including Sky Sports+), Sky TV in Ultra HD, and Netflix for just £43 per month.

Jonathan Licht, Managing Director at Sky Sports, said, “Sky Sports+ is here, taking sports viewing to the next level by offering unmatched access and choice through numerous live streams and our new dedicated channel. We’re showing up for football fans like never before this season, showing every EFL team more than 20 times a season, and this weekend, our viewers can look forward to seeing every EFL game live. We’re thrilled to offer this to customers at no extra cost, ensuring they can enjoy even more of the sport they love this summer.”

Furthermore, to offer broadcasts of every game from the Championship, League One, and League Two live, the launch of Sky Sports+ is perfectly timed for the EFL opening weekend. On August 10th, fans can expect coverage of 30 matches across all three divisions, available on Sky Sports linear channels or streamed via Sky Sports+. The season’s first game on August 9th will be broadcast on Sky Showcase, while Soccer Saturday will air on both Sky Mix and Sky Showcase.

Additionally, an EFL season preview show is set to air on August 8th at 6 pm to gear up for the weekend’s action. Hosts David Prutton, Andy Hinchcliffe, Don Goodman, and Jobi McAnuff, will offer in-depth analysis and predictions for the upcoming matches across all divisions.

Sky Sports+ will offer customers exclusive early access to Sky’s sports documentaries, at least two weeks ahead of other platforms in addition to live sports. Kicking off on August 9th, “Mission to Burnley 2” will be available exclusively on Sky Sports+. This series will give sports fans an inside look at Burnley FC’s dramatic return to the Premier League, detailing their efforts to stay in the top tier amidst a challenging and tumultuous season finale.
