The announcement reinforces Sky’s long-term commitment to premier sports coverage and comes ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, which will kick off on June 30, 2025.

Wimbledon, known as the oldest and most iconic Grand Slam tennis tournament, holds a special place in the hearts of fans around the world. With this extension, Sky Italia will bring viewers six more editions of the event, complete with exclusive live coverage, expert commentary, and high-definition broadcasting.

Marzio Perrelli, Executive Vice President of Sport at Sky Italia, said, “Wimbledon is not just a tennis tournament; it is a world sports legend.” He added,  “For this reason, we are proud to announce an agreement that will allow us to bring our subscribers the next six editions of this unique event, with the quality of Sky’s storytelling, passion, and technology.”

The extended agreement includes full live coverage on both Sky Sport and NOW, Sky’s digital streaming platform. Italian viewers will have access to matches from the first serve to the final championship point, accompanied by Sky’s advanced production features, in-depth analysis, and tailored highlights.

Additionally, the partnership highlights Sky’s dedication to enhancing the viewer experience through multi-platform access, ensuring fans can watch Wimbledon from anywhere, whether on TV, mobile, or online.

Paul Davies, Associate Director of Broadcast, Production & Media Rights at the All England Club, said, “Tennis in Italy has never reached such high levels. Thanks to Sky’s commitment to this sport and its comprehensive and innovative coverage, we are delighted to extend our partnership through the end of the decade.”

This move comes at a time when Italian tennis is enjoying a golden era, with stars like Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini making waves on the international stage. The continued presence of Wimbledon on Sky ensures that Italian fans can follow their national heroes on one of the sport’s grandest stages.

Furthermore, Sky has played a key role in growing the sport’s popularity in Italy, providing in-depth coverage not just of Wimbledon, but also of ATP and WTA tournaments, and other major Grand Slam events.

Sky’s renewed Wimbledon rights are part of its broader strategy to maintain a premium sports content portfolio, which includes football, Formula 1, basketball, and cycling. By extending its grip on one of the crown jewels of tennis, Sky continues to position itself as the leading sports broadcaster in Italy.

Notably, Sky’s ability to integrate innovative technology, multi-angle cameras, interactive features, and real-time insights helps set it apart from competitors. The Wimbledon partnership will benefit from these advancements, offering viewers a truly immersive experience.
