Paramount Unveils Wrestling Central FAST Channel Featuring WOW and NWA

Paramount Global Content Distribution is diving deeper into the world of professional wrestling with the launch of a new FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channel, Wrestling Central. The channel is set to debut soon exclusively on The Roku Channel in the United States and Canada, offering wrestling fans a centralized destination for both live-action and legacy content.

This move further underscores the streaming industry’s growing appetite for niche content and the enduring appeal of professional wrestling. By spotlighting two notable promotions WOW – Women Of Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Wrestling Central aims to tap into a passionate global fanbase.

Dan Cohen, Chief Content Licensing Officer, Paramount and President, Republic Pictures, said, “We are thrilled to be launching a new wrestling FAST channel which includes WOW – Women Of Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) to a wider audience. This new FAST Channel premiering exclusively on The Roku Channel from two of the most exciting wrestling promotions will offer fans an exclusive and unique destination to catch both new, action-packed matches along with hundreds of hours of classic library content.”

Wrestling Central will offer new weekly matches from WOW and the NWA, in addition to a deep archive of legacy content. The programming slate includes classic episodes, never-before-seen matches, specials, and documentaries, aiming to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers to the wrestling world.

The initiative is part of Paramount’s broader FAST strategy, which is focused on building genre-specific channels that capitalize on fandom, nostalgia, and dedicated communities.

Currently in its third season, WOW – Women Of Wrestling is the only all-female wrestling promotion with a global presence. Co-owned and co-founded by Jeanie Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, and David McLane, the creator of GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), WOW puts women at the forefront of the wrestling industry.

Featuring a dynamic roster of female talent and high-energy live performances, WOW focuses on storytelling, empowerment, and community. The series airs in weekly syndication and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

WOW’s presence on Wrestling Central will bring its diverse and energetic brand of sports entertainment to a broader audience, particularly those looking for women-led action in a space historically dominated by male-centric programming.

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) brings historic weight to the new channel. As the oldest wrestling promotion in the world, the NWA was once the governing body for professional wrestling, shaping the industry from its founding in 1948 through the 1980s.

The league has hosted legendary names such as Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Dory & Terry Funk, Sting, and Kerry Von Erich. More recently, under the ownership of Billy Corgan, frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, the NWA has undergone a revival.

Since purchasing the organisation in 2017, Corgan has pushed to modernise the brand, delivering high-impact matches across the U.S., broadcasting on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, and launching an unscripted docuseries on Peacock.

Today, the NWA continues to gain momentum, with stars like Thom Latimer and Kenzie Paige holding championship titles and representing the promotion’s ongoing evolution.

The launch of Wrestling Central adds to the rapidly expanding list of genre-specific FAST channels targeting superfans. With no subscription fee and ad-supported access, these channels cater to audiences seeking specialized content without the cost of traditional cable or premium subscriptions.

For Paramount, this new offering reflects a broader content strategy aimed at capturing viewers through fandom-based programming. Wrestling remains one of the few entertainment formats that blends live action, narrative, and athleticism making it ideal for both linear and on-demand streaming models.

As both WOW and the NWA continue to develop new content and expand their audience reach, Wrestling Central is poised to become a hub for diverse wrestling storytelling, from the historic to the contemporary.
