OSN Expands its slate of NBCUniversal Titles

OSN will exclusively launch a slate of new premium series from Sky Studios and Peacock Originals produced by Universal Studio Group including Bel-Air, JOE vs CAROLE, We Are Lady Parts and Angelyne

New NBC series and blockbuster films also coming to OSN subscribers in 2022

14 February 2022, Dubai – United Arab Emirates: OSN, the region’s leading entertainment hub, today announced that it will exclusively premiere more premium NBCUniversal (NBCU) TV series and films in 2022 than ever before.

The hit Peacock Original comedy starring Will Forte, MacGruber, already launched on OSN in December. Soon, OSN subscribers will have first access in the region to additional Peacock Originals, including the highly awaited Bel-Air, which is set to premiere on OSN on February 14th. This one-hour series, executive produced by Will Smith and inspired by Morgan Cooper’s viral trailer, is a dramatic re-imagining of the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and is a new take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.

Other much anticipated Peacock titles produced by Universal Studio Group that will be available on OSN in 2022 include the critically acclaimed comedy series We Are Lady Parts; the new drama Angelyne,starring Emmy Rossum (Shameless) as the titular character;  as well as JOE vs CAROLE, a limited drama series based on the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic: Tiger King,” hosted and reported by Robert Moor, that centers around big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin (Kate McKinnon – Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters) and fellow exotic animal lover Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel (John Cameron Mitchell – Girls, Hedwig and the Angry Inch).

Universal Studio Group is comprised of NBCUniversal’s four powerhouse television studios: Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio.

Stellar Sky Studios titles that OSN subscribers will have access to include I Hate Suzie, the bold dramedystarring BAFTA nominee Billie Piper (Collateral, Doctor Who) who co-created the series with Emmy® winner and critically acclaimed writer Lucy Prebble (Succession, Enron); sci-fi adventure series Intergalactic; and Robert Harris’ Fear Index starring Josh Hartnett.2022 will also see the launch of the much anticipated second season of epic crime drama series Gangs of London.

Upcoming NBC titles include the high-profile limited series The Thing About Pam, which is based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’ conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her. He was later exonerated. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp, played by Renée Zellweger. The series is produced by Blumhouse Television, NBC News Studios and Big Picture Co.  OSN subscribers can also look forward to the long-awaited return of the flagship series from Emmy® winning producer Dick Wolf, Law & Order. Both series will be available on the same day as their launch in the US.

The Thing About Pam

Blockbuster movies coming in 2022 thanks to the Pay 1 output deal with NBCU include: F9, Sing 2, The Boss Baby: Family Business and action-thriller Nobody, in addition to as critically acclaimed films such as Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho.

All series and movies will be available first in the region to OSN customers across the streaming app and channels.
