Netflix to stream WWE Raw from January 2025

WWE Raw Heads to Netflix in 2025 for Exclusive Streaming in the US, Canada, UK, and Latin America

WWE, a subsidiary of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. and Netflix have recently announced a groundbreaking alliance. This collaboration signifies the transfer of WWE’s premier weekly show, Raw, to Netflix. This move is a historic departure for Raw, a staple of linear TV since its debut 31 years ago.

For ten years, Netflix has committed to a deal worth $5 billion for this partnership. Additionally, Netflix can withdraw after the first five years and prolong the agreement for another ten years.

Starting January 2025, Raw will exclusively stream on Netflix in various regions, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Latin America, with plans to expand to more territories over time. Additionally, Netflix will host all WWE programming outside the US, encompassing not only Raw but also other weekly series like SmackDown and NXT, plus major live events such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble.

Furthermore, Netflix will feature WWE’s acclaimed documentaries, original series, and future projects internationally from 2025 onward.

Mark Shapiro, President and COO of TKO, described this agreement as groundbreaking. He highlighted the synergy between WWE’s compelling content and Netflix’s global reach, foreseeing a substantial and stable financial future through this partnership. He emphasised the deal’s role in reshaping the media landscape, amplifying WWE’s reach, and introducing weekly live events to Netflix’s offerings.

Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, expressed enthusiasm about incorporating WWE Raw, known for its vast and devoted fanbase across generations, into their platform. By merging Netflix’s expansive network and personalisation capabilities with WWE’s engaging content, Bajaria anticipates delivering increased enjoyment and value to both WWE audiences and Netflix subscribers. She praised Raw for its perfect blend of sports and entertainment, offered live throughout the year, and looked forward to the sustained partnership with WWE.

Nick Khan, WWE President, lauded Netflix’s remarkable storytelling capabilities. He stated that Netflix, recognised as a leading entertainment brand worldwide, is the ideal platform to cater to Raw’s dynamic and growing audience.

Raw, with over 1,600 episodes since its 1993 inception, is a flagship program in sports entertainment. Airing weekly throughout the year, it combines drama, athleticism, and unscripted excitement. The three-hour show has been instrumental in the rise of iconic figures such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair.

Raw is the top-rated program on the USA Network, attracting 17.5 million unique viewers annually. It excels in the key 18-49 advertising demographic and consistently trends on social media during each episode. WWE’s social media presence extends to over one billion followers across various platforms.
