Mipcom Cannes 2024 Attracts 10,000+ Delegates

The 40th annual Mipcom Cannes event concluded on October 24, welcoming nearly 10,500 delegates from 110 countries which included 3,240 buyers. However, this year marked a slight dip from the previous year’s 11,000 attendees, event organizers RX France highlighted that the decrease was due to exhibitors scaling back the size of their teams.

Additionally, this year’s Mipcom Cannes saw an increase in exhibitor participation with 347 companies present, up from 320 last year. Of the 34 country pavilions featured, ten made their debut, highlighting the event’s growing global appeal.

Leading the 3,240 buyers in attendance were U.S. programmers, with representation from the U.K., France, Germany, and Spain following closely.

Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES and MIP LONDON, said, “As the definitive once a year week where the whole global industry convenes, MIPCOM CANNES has proved again to be unique and unmissable. The feeling has been one of optimism, and the intense volume and concentration of activity in Cannes can only be a benefit and a boost for the whole industry internationally.”

Notably, 73 debuting companies were featured at this year’s Mipcom Cannes in which most of them were from technology-driven sectors. These new exhibitors were prominently showcased in the newly extended MIP INNOVATION Lab, which hosted a comprehensive program covering key industry topics such as FAST and AVOD models, artificial intelligence, streaming, and connected TV.
