Reliance Jio Introduces Jio AirFiber in 8 Cities; Plan Packages Begin at Rs 599 and Include 16 OTT Services.
Reliance Jio has unveiled its Jio AirFiber services in eight major cities on September 19th. Jio AirFiber is Jio’s innovative Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) offering, backed by its dedicated 5G service.
The company has allocated a unique 5G network segment for this 5G FWA solution, as previously mentioned by the company’s president, Kiran Thomas.
Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is a wireless communication method that offers rapid internet connectivity to stationary locations using wireless tech, eliminating the need for traditional wired methods like fiber optics or copper lines. FWA broadband devices eradicate the hassle of wiring and installation.
JioAirFiber promises the convenience of fiber-speed connectivity without cables. Users can plug in the device, switch it on, and instantly have a personal Wi-Fi hub at home powered by genuine 5G. The company’s website mentions, “With JioAirFiber, connecting your home or workspace to Gigabit-speed Internet has never been easier.”
The service is now available in cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune.
Jio AirFiber offers plans in two categories: Air Fiber starting from Rs 599 and AirFiber Max starting from Rs 1499. The service provides impressive speeds of up to 1Gbps.
