Jio Cinema Bags the Exclusive Rights for Celebrity Cricket League Season 10

Jio Cinema Partners with Celebrity Cricket League Season 10, tournament set to begin on February 23

Reliance’s Jio Cinema is continuously expanding its foray into cricket and entertainment. It has now announced its partnership with Celebrity Cricket League Season 10. Starting February 23, Reliance will stream the tournament exclusively on Jio Cinema.

The four-week tournament consists of 20 matches and is played by eight teams representing the major film industries in India, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Bengali. The venues for the opening weekend matches will be in Sharjah, while the rest of the tournament will be conducted in India.

Celebrity Cricket League started in 2011 and has garnered popularity and success among the audience. During the previous season, it reached a cumulative reach of 250 million viewers nationwide.

The CCL roster includes some of the top actors from each industry, like Ritesh Deshmukh, Sonu Sood, Kiccha Sudeep, Arya, Jiiva, Thaman, Sohail Khan, and Unni Mukudan. It also includes the industry’s top names, like Salman Khan and Venkatesh, as brand ambassadors of their respective film industries.

Ferzad Palia, the Business head of Jio Cinema, expressed that Jiocinema is the home of the best sports and entertainment content and is loved by a broad spectrum of audiences. Celebrity Cricket League encompasses both, and we are happy to partner with them.

Vishnu Induri, the founder of CCL, said that we are delighted to partner with Jio Cinema and are sure that this partnership will help the League reach a much wider audience. We are looking forward to engaging fans across the nation.

In recent years, Viacom 18, the joint venture between Network 18 (owned by Reliance) and Paramount Global, has acquired the rights to major Cricket tournaments, including IPL, in 2022.

Last year, it bagged a five-year contract with BCCI with a valuation of 67.8 crore for each game, the deals included TV broadcasting and digital streaming. It’s to be noted that the tournaments are being streamed in Jio Cinema for free.
