Jared Grusd, a seasoned media and tech executive, has been appointed CEO of Nielsen’s content-solutions division, Gracenote.
Gracenote was acquired by Nielsen from Tribune Media Co. in 2017 and is known for providing entertainment metadata and connected ID solutions for content navigation and applications.
Starting from July 8 Jared Grusd will officially begin as CEO of Gracenote, reporting to Nielsen CEO Karthik Rao. Additionally, Sujit Das Munshi, who has been leading Gracenote as general manager since November 2022, will transition to the role of chief operating officer.

The newly appointed CEO of Gracenote, Jared Grusd, previously co-founded Ethiqly AI, an educational technology company that leverages AI to enhance human expression and empowerment. Before this, he served as chief strategy officer at banking app Chime and Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, where he also held roles as head of content and head of international market development. Additionally, Grusd was the CEO of HuffPost during its ownership by Verizon and served as chief legal officer at Spotify.
Furthermore, Jared Grusd served as AOL’s chief strategy and business development officer and held senior executive positions at Google earlier in his career. He holds a law degree from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
