Intelsat, the satellite operator, has extended its collaboration with Sony Pictures Networks India to continue providing content to millions of viewers throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Southeast Asia.
According to the company, Sony Pictures Networks India’s 26 channels, which reach over 700 million viewers, will continue to be distributed by Intelsat. Sony Pictures Networks India has depended on Intelsat’s satellite infrastructure throughout the Asia-Pacific region for more than two decades to transmit Indian content to viewers.
Furthermore, Intelsat announced it will ensure reliable signal delivery, in-orbit protection against interference, and provide high uptime and signal quality to remote areas.

The satellite company SES acquired Intelsat in a US$3.1 billion deal in April 2024. The merger will form a significant European-based satellite entity. According to the companies, this merger will result in a more robust multi-orbit operator with expanded solutions, enhanced coverage, improved resiliency, and increased resources for profitable investment in innovation.
