For the 2024-25 season, The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has entered into a commercial rights agreement with Shrachi Sports Endeavour Private Limited for its key tournaments, including the I-League and Indian Women’s League (IWL). Under the agreement, 338 matches across various competitions will be produced and broadcast, including events like the Senior Women’s National Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy, the I-League 2, and the Senior National Championship for the Santosh Trophy.
The senior men’s and women’s club leagues will be available for streaming on the SSEN app along with national championship matches. Additionally, 110 out of the 132 I-League matches will be broadcast live on the Sony Sports Network.
Rahul Todi, managing director at Shrachi Sports, said, “It is indeed a historic day for Shrachi Sports to be partnering with AIFF. This will provide a platform for men and women players to showcase their talents to national and international audiences with high quality HD content.”
Furthermore, after a last-minute resolution to a broadcasting dispute that had previously led to tensions among the participating clubs the I-League’s 18th edition successfully commenced on November 23, as planned.
In response to demands from the 12 participating clubs, the AIFF announced just hours before the league’s kickoff that the Sony Network would begin broadcasting the I-League starting from the second round. However, a day prior, the 12 clubs, united under the I-League Clubs Association, and sent a letter to AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, stating that they would not proceed with the tournament unless Sony Network was confirmed as the league’s official broadcaster.
