Freely Streaming Service by Everyone TV Scheduled for Launch in Q2 2024

Everyone TV to Launch Freely Streaming Service in 2024 with Live and On-Demand Content

Everyone TV, a joint venture owned and backed by BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5, has announced that it will launch its streaming service, Freely, in Q2 2024 and provided the first glimpse of its UI and features.

Freely is said to bring both live and On-Demand content together in a single hub, ensuring that the TV viewing experience stays relevant and easily accessible for audiences in the years to come.

The UI includes new features. Viewers can switch between live and on-demand TV from the catalogue and leverage functionalities like pause, restart, and access to more content for free.

Some of the key features of Freely are

Mini guide: This pop-up interface will be available for users while switching channels. It will create a seamless browsing experience, enabling users to discover content quickly.

Browse: Users can explore the live and on-demand programming from leading broadcasters and free-to-air channels by pressing the “Freely” button on the remote.

TV guide: It provides a seven-day programming guide with relevant information and can be accessed via the “Guide” button on the remote

Freely has also revealed that it has partnered with the TV manufacturer Vestel for five years to offer Freely. They have also affirmed that the viewing experience will be consistent across all Freely-enabled TVs, no matter how accessed.

Everyone TV is also collaborating with UKTV to onboard its free channel portfolio, including Dave, Drama, Yesterday, and W.

Sarah Milton and Carl Pfeiffer, the Joint Chief Product Officers of Everyone TV, in a joint statement, stated, “We’ve built Freely around the needs of British audiences, bringing them the freedom to choose how they want to watch, with all their favourite shows from the UK’s leading broadcasters all in one place for free. We’re proud of what we’re launching with Freely and are excited about bringing major enhancements like the MiniGuide to viewers as Freely launches in Q2 this year.”

Atinc Ogut, Vice President of TV Product Management, Vestel added, “We are thrilled to announce our further partnership and commitment to the latest innovation in television technology by offering customers TVs compatible with Freely.

The collaboration not only enhances the functionality of our TVs but also empowers users to stream their favourite shows, live and on-demand freely, all from a single, unified platform. As one of the TV manufacturers now compatible with Freely, we’re proud to be setting the standard for the future of television.”
