DirecTV Expands Skinny-Bundle Offerings with New Content & Sports Channels

DirecTV is rapidly expanding its skinny-bundle strategy, adding new content and sports channels to its genre-based pay TV packages. These updates aim to provide more value for subscribers while keeping pricing competitive.

One of the key additions is Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max Basic with Ads ($9.99/month), which will now be included at no extra cost in the MyEntertainment Genre Pack. This package already offers 40+ entertainment channels and includes ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu (valued at $20.98/month). Despite these additions, the MyEntertainment bundle remains priced at $34.99/month.

Timed with Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, DirecTV is enhancing its MyHome Team add-on, a $19.99/month regional sports package linked to the MySports bundle.

New RSNs joining the package include:

  • Spectrum SportsNet LA (Home of the Los Angeles Dodgers)
  • MLB-owned channels for the Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres

Many of these teams previously had deals with Bally Sports, which lost multiple RSN partnerships due to bankruptcy proceedings in 2023 and 2024. With these additions, DirecTV is redefining pay TV, offering customizable, genre-based packages that balance live sports, entertainment, and affordability for modern viewers.
