In a recent press release, CuriosityStream announced that they are tieing up with Tata Sky to bring CuriosityStream’s award-winning, factual content to Indian customers via Tata Sky’s popular streaming service.
According to the press release put out by CuriosityStream, Tata Sky subscribers will be able to access CuriosityStream’s content via Tata Sky Binge app available on the
- Tata Sky Binge+ Smart set top box, and on the
- Amazon Fire TV Stick – Tata Sky Edition.
Apart from this, Curiosity tream will also be available as a linear service on television to Tata Sky DTH subscribers with an option to view live and catch-up content on-the-go via the Tata Sky Mobile app.
Quoting from the press release, Bakori Davis, Managing Director and Head of International Distribution for CuriosityStream had the following to say –
“CuriosityStream shares Tata Sky’s commitment to bringing viewers the highest quality content wherever and whenever they want to experience new adventures and discover the world’s most fascinating events, people, and places,”
“We look forward to partnering with Tata Sky to introduce CuriosityStream to new viewers throughout India and to grow our company’s reach in this dynamic media market.”
This is exciting news for the Indian OTT consumer that Tata Sky could get CuriosityStream’s content over. For those who don’t know, CuriosityStream is a leading producer of factual content and features some of the world’s most famous people in their content.
- Deep Ocean Narrated by David Attenborough
- Age of Big Cats
- Mammoths – Giants of the Ice Age
- A Traveler’s Guide to the Planets
I would say that the timing is pretty apt.
With children being forced to stay home and with TV viewership going up (a large portion being driven by children watching cartoons), it might be interesting to see the viewership statistics of CuriosityStream’s content – will parents buy and make their kids watch? Perhaps, binge on it themselves? I know I will 🙂
