Comcast and Paramount Global have reached a new multi-year carriage agreement, ensuring that Paramount-backed networks such as CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Network will remain available on Comcast’s cable systems. This agreement comes at a time when streaming platforms are gaining popularity and pulling subscribers away from traditional linear television.
Ray Hopkins, President of distribution for Paramount, said, “We are pleased to renew and expand upon our broad partnership with Comcast,” added, “This new deal ensures that our dynamic portfolio of popular brands and premium programming continue to reach and entertain our valued audiences everywhere.”
John Dixon, Senior Vice President of Entertainment for Comcast Cable, said, “This agreement gives us the ability to offer customers more choice and flexibility in what they want to watch and how they want to watch it. We’re committed to continuing to provide Xfinity customers with access to their traditional and streaming content across our industry-leading entertainment platforms.”
As part of the deal, Comcast subscribers will retain access to Paramount’s streaming services, including Paramount+, Pluto TV, and BET+. The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Additionally, Comcast now has the rights to offer Paramount+ with Showtime to eligible Xfinity customers, providing expanded streaming options.
