CBS News Renames its Streaming Network

CBS News has revealed plans for another rebranding of its free news streaming service, accompanied by an expansion of its programming. Currently known as “CBS News” officially, the free ad-supported streaming television network is also sometimes referred to as the “CBS News Streaming Network” to avoid confusion with the network’s news division of the same name. Moving forward, the network will now be known as “CBS News 24/7.”

Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, said, “CBS News 24/7 is a decidedly ambitious evolution of our streaming efforts. Data backs up our bet on a fresh, timely and distinctive approach to breaking news and live coverage. Our audiences crave it, and we’re in the best position to deliver it.”

As part of its latest rebranding initiative, the network is set to introduce a flagship program titled “CBS News 24/7,” slated to debut in June 2024. Later in the spring of 2024, the show is slated to expand to 90 minutes. Furthermore, a new news summary show titled “CBS News Roundup” is set to launch later in the spring, airing at 1 a.m. Eastern Time (10 p.m. Pacific Time).

CBS News is also set to launch “CBS News Confirmed” in the summer of 2024, a program dedicated to the network’s fact-checking and anti-disinformation unit. Specific details such as timeslot and runtime are pending. Following the launch of several new shows, the network is gearing up for its double-anchored live programming.

The network has also unveiled its new logo, which uses the TT Norms font along with the CBS eye. Furthermore, the incorporation of “24/7” shows that the network is “always on.”
