Banijay Rights, the distribution division of Banijay Entertainment, has launched a dedicated FAST channel for “Mr. Bean: The Animated Series.”
Shaun Keeble, VP Digital, Banijay Rights, said, “Mr Bean’s global image has known no bounds over the last 30-plus years so to expand this iconic brand into the FAST arena and grow the animated series’ presence ever further – is an exciting moment for us at Banijay Rights.”
With the launch of “Mr Bean,” a 24/7 channel, Banijay Rights celebrates its 30th FAST channel milestone exclusively featuring the first three seasons of “Mr Bean: The Animated Series.” The animation series produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family under Banijay Kids & Family tells funny stories about Mr. Bean and his friend Teddy as they go on playful adventures together.
Tom Beattie, MD Tiger Aspect Kids & Family/Series Producer, said, “Mr Bean is one of the most beloved characters in British and international television history with a huge global footprint. It’s brilliant that fans across the world can now watch the Mr Bean animated series 24/7 on a dedicated FAST channel.”
Mr Bean made its debut over 30 years ago and was co-created by Atkinson and Richard Curtis, portraying a character who navigates everyday challenges with the innocence of a child in an adult’s body, often creating chaos in the process. According to Banijay, the Mr Bean brand holds the top spot on Facebook globally, boasting over 141 million followers and has 15 million likes on TikTok and 19 billion views across the official YouTube channel.
Notably, Mr Bean is set to debut on Samsung TV Plus in the upcoming weeks, followed by releases on LG Channels, Plex, Rakuten TV, and TCL across 29 territories this summer. These territories include France, Italy, Spain, the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, India, Brazil, and Mexico.
Jennifer Batty, Samsung TV Plus’s European Head of Content Acquisition, said, “We’re thrilled to be bringing Mr Bean to our Samsung TV Plus users across Europe. Mr Bean is among the most iconic characters in television and bringing a new dedicated FAST channel and VoD offering to our service demonstrates our commitment to provide users with all the content that they love, for free.”
