Amazon’s 2025 Upfront to Focus on Ad-Supported Media

Amazon has announced its plans to hold its 2025 upfront presentation on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. at The Beacon Theater in New York City. The event marks a shift in timing and location, as the company’s upfront was previously held on a Tuesday morning.

The presentation focuses on Amazon’s growing ad-supported media portfolio, which includes platforms such as Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video, Twitch, Wondery, Fire TV Channels, IMDb, Amazon Live, and Amazon Music. The company has reported a monthly ad-supported audience of more than 275 million in the US alone.

Alan Moss, Vice President of Global Ad Sales, said, “We’ve received positive feedback from agencies and brands leading to strong demand following our first upfront with Prime Video ads,” and “Advertisers are leaning into our comprehensive offering of full-funnel advertising solutions. We’re connecting campaign tactics across awareness, consideration, and conversion into a cohesive strategy to directly measure the contribution of each tactic and enable on-going business growth.”

Amazon is also preparing to roll out its Prime Video ad-supported tier to five new markets Brazil, India, Japan, the Netherlands, and New Zealand in 2025. This expansion follows its initial launch in January 2024, which brought the ad-supported service to countries including Australia, Germany, Italy, and the UK.

In the US, subscribers have the option to upgrade to an ad-free experience for an additional fee. Prime Video is available as a standalone service for $8.99 per month or as part of an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually.

Additionally, Amazon’s decision to adjust its upfront schedule and expand its advertising reach with comprehensive ad solutions span awareness, consideration, and conversion stages, positioning Amazon Ad.
