ESPN has signed a new agreement with UEFA to become the exclusive media rights holder for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 across Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. The deal also includes broadcast rights to UEFA’s men’s and women’s youth and futsal tournaments through 2028. Under this agreement, live and exclusive coverage of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will be available across Mexico, Central America, and South America on ESPN and Disney+. The tournament, considered one of the most important competitions in international women’s football, will take place in Switzerland from July 2 to July 27, 2025.
Bruno Zurlo, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Sports for Latin America at Disney, said, “The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 is one of the most prestigious tournaments in international soccer and a milestone event in the global women’s sports calendar. This agreement reflects our continued commitment to elevating women’s sports and expanding access to world-class competition. As the women’s game continues to grow, ESPN remains at the forefront by delivering high-quality coverage and storytelling that connects fans across the region.”
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s Marketing Director, said, “We’re thrilled to deepen our partnership with ESPN and Disney+, bringing the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 — alongside men’s and women’s youth and futsal championships — to audiences across Spanish-speaking Latin America. This collaboration reinforces our shared commitment to elevating women’s football, and we look forward to continuing our work with ESPN to offer fans unparalleled access to UEFA competitions through its renowned coverage.”
The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will feature 16 national teams competing in eight cities across Switzerland. The tournament marks the 14th edition of the competition, which has grown steadily in viewership and importance over the past decade.
Furthermore, this year’s edition will include a record prize pool of €41 million, which is a 156% increase from the 2022 tournament, signaling UEFA’s investment in growing women’s football on a global level. All matches from the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN’s linear networks and streamed on Disney+, ensuring widespread access to fans across the region. The coverage will be supported by in-depth analysis, special features, and cross-platform storytelling across ESPN’s digital and social platforms.
Additionally, ESPN and Disney+ will also cover UEFA’s youth and futsal championships until 2028, allowing fans in Latin America to follow emerging talent and niche formats of the sport. This long-term rights package helps expand access to a wide range of UEFA competitions beyond just the senior men’s game.
Notably, this deal reinforces Disney’s broader strategy of strengthening its sports content offerings in Latin America, especially in the growing space of women’s sports. The company has been actively expanding coverage of major international tournaments to increase visibility and engagement with fans across the region.
As women’s football continues to gain momentum worldwide, partnerships like this one between UEFA and ESPN/Disney+ are seen as critical to ensuring the sport reaches new audiences. The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 is expected to draw significant viewership and set new records for both attendance and digital engagement. With the countdown to the tournament already underway, ESPN and Disney+ are preparing extensive programming plans aimed at delivering high-quality, accessible coverage for Spanish-speaking fans throughout Latin America.
