Dish TV India Unveils ‘Own Your Customer’ Initiative to Bolster Local Cable Partnerships

Dish TV India Rolls Out ‘Own Your Customer’ Program to Strengthen Partnership with Local Cable Operators

Dish TV India, a prominent direct-to-home (DTH) service provider, has unveiled its flagship ‘Own Your Customer’ (OYC) program, establishing a strategic alliance with Local Cable Operators (LCOs). This initiative is designed to enhance the television viewing experience for consumers by streamlining the delivery process and negating the necessity for traditional infrastructure such as optical fibres and amplifiers, thus promising improved network stability and reliability.

The ‘Own Your Customer’ scheme is set to benefit cable operators significantly by bolstering their client base. The decline in subscribers has been a growing concern for cable operators, with many considering switching to DTH services to ensure uninterrupted viewing. Dish TV’s new strategy offers an ideal resolution, enabling operators to maintain their clientele without incurring extra costs.

Through the OYC program, LCOs and Multisystem Operators (MSOs) will gain full autonomy over their networks, serving as the local distributors for Dish TV. This includes handling tasks like recharges and activations via a self-managed portal, thus reducing reliance on third-party providers. Additionally, it opens up avenues for LCOs to offer broadband installations, allowing customers to enjoy advanced digital services such as the Dish TV Android Box directly from their homes.

Manoj Dobhal, the Chief Executive Officer of Dish TV India, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, saying, “We are delighted to introduce the ‘Own Your Customer’ campaign, a first-of-its-kind and unique initiative in media distribution. It marks a major change in cable TV distribution. This initiative by Dish TV will not only empower LCOs and MSOs but will also enable them to expand their customer base and reduce operating costs. At the same time, Dish TV will gain access to new customers and reduce servicing overheads. This relationship ensures that both parties are committed to driving industry-wide change while providing unmatched value and services to customers.”
