Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is establishing a dedicated department to create strategic partnerships between media companies, brands and their intellectual property, and star talent.
The new Media & Entertainment Partnerships division will assist CAA’s Century City-based clients in the launch of films, television shows, social development, financing, and digital series. This initiative aims to secure additional film and TV production financing for the leading entertainment and sports talent agency through brand partnerships.
Kevin Huvane, CAA co-chairman, said, “The Media & Entertainment Partnerships department is a testament to our commitment to generating all the best possible opportunities for clients to succeed. Having an exceptional team of dedicated content and marketing experts crafting meaningful collaborations among storytellers, platforms and brands gives CAA clients an unprecedented advantage in the marketplace.”
The Media & Entertainment Partnerships division is headed by marketing veteran Libby Bush, with experience at Marvel, NBA, and Disney. She is joined by executives Erica Durgin, Scott Iason, and Margo Plotkin, who will work together to drive this initiative forward.
Notably, CAA had previously collaborated between brands and Hollywood screen talent, including partnerships with stars and also collaborated with independent producers such as Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland and Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment.
Furthermore, CAA has already brokered several notable deals following the establishment of the Media & Entertainment partnership division. These include KitchenAid featuring its stand mixer on Jennifer Garner’s social series, “The Pretend Cooking Show,” and a collaboration between Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Ally Bank. Additionally, the financial services company and Hello Sunshine have partnered to co-finance and market the unscripted show “Side Hustlers” on Roku.
To generate additional revenue and offer marketing support the new Media & Entertainment Partnerships department aims for major media and entertainment companies including clients like Netflix, Lionsgate, Apple TV+, and Paramount+, among others.
Harry Bush, Group Director Economic Regulation of CAA, said, “CAA has long provided best-in-class service to the most influential people and companies in the entertainment business. It is a privilege to offer our creative and sales expertise to support our talent clients and long standing industry partners’ biggest content projects. We also help form partnerships with brands to help get content made and create compelling marketing campaigns that captivate audiences and deliver tangible results.”
