Air France is taking its in-flight entertainment to the next level with a brand-new partnership with French media giant Canal+. Starting May 1, 2025, passengers will be able to enjoy a wide variety of Canal+ content during their flight, including award-winning series, documentaries, comedies, and shows for children.
This new agreement will give travelers access to a curated selection of Canal+ Creation Originale series, along with top comedy performances, popular French TV programmes, and exciting films. Air France is already known for offering a strong mix of French content, dedicating about 30% of its entertainment lineup to French films and series. The addition of Canal+ further strengthens the airline’s commitment to promoting French culture around the world.
Among the featured titles are hit series like The Embers, Of Money and Blood, and the historical drama Versailles, all produced under the Canal+ Creation Originale banner. Passengers will also be able to watch popular talk shows like En Aparté, and enjoy stand-up comedy sets from well-known French comedians including Laura Felpin and Roman Frayssinet.
For those who love exploring the world or learning something new, a wide range of documentaries focused on travel, culture, discovery, and sports will also be available. And for families, there will be a solid lineup of kid-friendly content to keep young travelers entertained throughout their flight.
But the offering doesn’t stop there. Beginning in June 2025, the selection will be expanded with content from Canal+ Africa. This will include the acclaimed African series Niabla and the documentary series Enquête d’Afrique, bringing a fresh and diverse perspective to Air France’s in-flight experience.
Fabien Pelous, SVP Customer Experience at Air France, said, “We are proud to be showcasing Canal+ programmes on board our flights. Renowned throughout the world for their creativity, I’m sure they will appeal to our customers and promote French culture. They also enable us to offer more up-to-date content on board our flights.”
This collaboration also marks a first for the airline. Canal+ will have its own dedicated space within Air France’s entertainment system a unique opportunity to highlight French and African content on a global stage.
Christophe Pinard-Legry, CEO, Canal+ France (Business Division), said, “We are delighted with this unique partnership, which will enable Air France passengers to enjoy an exclusive entertainment experience on board its long-haul flights. We are particularly honoured that Air France has chosen CANAL+ to create its first and only dedicated media space, reinforcing our commitment to promoting French, and soon African, audiovisual creation throughout the world.”
At launch, around 100 Canal+ programmes will be available, all in French, with subtitles and accessibility features for the deaf and hard of hearing. The content library will be refreshed every month, with 20 new titles added regularly to keep the selection fresh and exciting.
With this partnership, Air France is not just enhancing its in-flight entertainment it’s also giving travelers a taste of French creativity and expanding its cultural reach by showcasing African stories in the near future. Whether you’re flying for business or leisure, your next long-haul trip with Air France just got a lot more entertaining.
